Elvin Clay Housley, 85, of Riceville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017.
He was born in Fannin County, Ga., and spent the last 46 years in the Claxton community. He attended Double Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Housley was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, on March 31, 2017; his parents, John Henry and Luvenia Goss Housley; one grandson, David Eddington; and 10 siblings.
Mr. Housley is survived by two children, Steven Clay Housley and his wife, Tammy, of Sweetwater, and Christal and her husband, Jeff Eddington, of Riceville; grandchildren, Dr. Blake Housley and his wife, Amy, Dr. Melissa Housley Reynolds and her husband, Dr. James Reynolds, Dianna Cavanah and her husband, Dr. Michael Cavanah, Mark Eddington, Lindsey Housley, Dakota Housley and Lillie Housley; one sister, Ivanelle Johnson of Hopkinsville, Ky.; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
