  Worcester Telegram & Gazette (MA) November 27, 1990 Walter S. Higgins Sr., 71, of 56 Windsor St. died yesterday in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, after an illness. He leaves his wife, Rita V. (Syr) Higgins; seven sons, Elliott C., Alan P., Peter J., David M. and Ronald R. Higgins, all of Worcester, Walter S. Higgins Jr. of Shrewsbury and Gary W. Higgins of Holden; six daughters, Judith LeFort, Jane Seymour and Margaret Counihan, all of Worcester, Nancy Novak in Illinois, MaryAnn Horrigan in Vermont and Joan Pabley of Paxton; a brother, Robert Higgins in New Jersey; three sisters, Elsie Stewart and Doris Higgins, both of Worcester, and Dorothy Krause in West Virginia; 21 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Mr. and Mrs. Higgins observed their 45th wedding anniversary recently. He was born in Worcester, son of William E. and Alice (Odie) Higgins, and lived here all his life. He worked for 40 years in the mailroom of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, retiring in 1983. Mr. Higgins was a member of St. Bernard's Church.
