A Memorial service for Robert W. Higgins, 71, of Bridgewater, a former associate professor at Middlesex County College, will be held at 10 a.m. on Feb. 22 at Middlesex County College.
Mr. Higgins, who died Feb. 1 in the Somerset Medical Center, taught in the business and management program at Middlesex for 23 years before retiring in 1995. Previously, he had been the personnel director of the Supermarket General Corp. (Pathmark) and, earlier, was employed by the Sears & Roebuck Co. and several Midwest and Texas food-market chains.
Mr. Higgins was a graduate of Springfield College, where he received bachelor's and master's degrees in education. During World War II, he served in the 84th Infantry Division of the Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Born in Worcester, Mass., he lived in Bridgewater for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Janet; a daughter, Patricia, and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Krause, Mrs. Elsie Stewart and Doris.
