WILLIAMSTOWN - Richard "Rick" Dudley, 48, of Brook Street died Friday, March 11, 2005, in the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. Born August 3, 1956, in Meriden, Conn., he was the son of Roger and Dorothy (Bell) Dudley. He attended Meriden Elementary School. He moved with his parents to Chelsea, Vt., and graduated in 1974 from Chelsea High School. He served in the United States Army with the military police.
On October 26, 1985, he married Debra Parker in Rangley, Maine. For most of their married life, they have made their home in Williamstown.
For many years, he provided in-home care for the elderly. Most recently, he worked in manufacturing for Belden Wire and Cable in Essex. His interests were bowling, fishing, golfing, and music. In earlier years, he played in the Wolf Larson Band. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Debra of Williamstown; three sons, Jeremy Lewis and his wife, Angel of Barre, Rickie Dudley of Middlesex, and Chad Lewis and his wife, Tania, of Williamstown; a grandson, Jalen Lewis and a granddaughter, Autumn Lewis; a sister, Linda Doyle, and her husband, Thomas of Washington; a brother, Howard Dudley; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, a brother, Lee Dudley, predeceased him.
