AURORA, Virginia Lee Bish, 76, of Aurora, formerly of Giltner, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Mrs. Bish was born Jan. 25, 1932, at Giltner to Otto Clifton and Bessie May (Detamore) Hunnicutt.
Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Harvey Bish of Aurora; two daughters and a sons-in-law, Regina R. and Tom Aspegren of Marquette and Roxanne L. and Jeff Hinrichs of Kearney; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley J. and Chris Bish, Brian J. and Janet Bish, all of Giltner; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Loren Hunnicutt of Aurora and Gerald and Lucille Hunnicutt of Grand Island; and four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lavonne (Bonnie) Ediger of Aurora, Verla Bachman of Grand Island, Betty and Bob Ranard of Grand Island and Marleen and Marvin Caspersen of Boelus. Also left to cherish her memory are 14 grandchildren, Tonya Aspegren, Shane (Keri) Aspegren, Jesse (Amy) Rudy, Melanie Stelk, Matthew Aspegren, Kayla Aspegren, Andrew (Tiffany) Bish, Emily Bish, Jacob Bish, Heath (Karissa) Bish, Tracy (Brad) Schutt, Alyse (Jayme) Krejdl, Amanda Hinrichs and Curtis Hinrichs; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Virginia grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School. She attended Kearney State College for one year. Virginia worked at the ASCS office for one year and taught in a country school for two years.
Virginia was united in marriage to Harvey E. Bish on July 20, 1952, at the Christian Church in Giltner. They raised their four children on a farm near Giltner and operated Harv's Farm Supply. Virginia was member of the Giltner United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, taught Bible School, was involved in the music ministries, including singing in the Choir and participated in the ladies' Circle and Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed gardening, painting and quilting. Virginia organized a quilt club in Arizona that included over 100 members. Virginia and Harv recently served as Grand Marshals for the Giltner 2008 Autumn Fest.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, E. Keith Hunnicutt.
