SOUTH CHINA - Rita J. Haskell, 75, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Alfond Health Center in Augusta, following a long illness. She was born in Augusta on Aug. 23, 1938, a daughter of the late Norman L. and Gertrude (Webber) Keller.
Mrs. Haskell was a graduate of Erskine Academy. She had been employed by the state of Maine, Department of Human Services and, more recently for Erskine Academy, where she was the bookkeeper for more than 25 years.
Mrs. Haskell was predeceased by her husband, James "Tero" Haskell; and a brother, Kerwin Keller.
She is survived by four children: Donald Haskell and his wife, Maureen, of Thomaston, Patricia DesIsles and her husband, Kenneth, of China, Lee Haskell and his wife, Amanda, of Vassalboro, and Raymond Haskell and his companion, Michelle Bragg, of China; a brother, Michael Keller, and his wife, Mary, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister, Joanne Harrington, and her husband, Dick, of Palermo; a sister-in-law, Rose Keller; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Cheryl York, of Palermo.
