S Air Force during World War II was retired from the FAA and a member of the Retired Air Traffic Controllers Association. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Shaffer and is survived by his son, John Shaffer (Terri), 3 daughters, Linda Hollins (Gary), Joanne Wallace (Mike) and Suzanne Mullany (Mike), 1 sister, Vera Hill, 7 granddaughters, several nieces and nephews.
