Betty Lucille Tejeda, 78, of Stromsburg, passed away Jan. 8, 2012 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg. Betty was born Feb. 10, 1933 to Paul Melvin and Alberta Marie (Haskell) Fisher in Decatur, Ill. She attended Inglewood High School in California, graduating in 1951.
On Oct. 13, 1951 she was united in marriage to Edward Tejeda at Las Vegas, Nev. To this union two children were born.
Betty was a homemaker for 13 years and then began working for Hughes Aircraft in the accounting department. She retired in April of 1988. Betty and Ed moved to Stromsburg in 1999. On June 25, 2010, Betty moved to the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg where she resided until her passing.
She was a member of East Hill Church of Christ in York.She was a seamstress, enjoyed making leaded glass, gardening, traveling and collecting antiques.
Survivors include her husband, Edward of Stromsburg; daughter, Tonimarie (Randy) Damme of Columbus; grandchildren, Natalie Tejeda of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Tejeda of southern California, Crystal Northey of Columbus, Jonathan Anderson of Kearney and Michael Anderson of Columbus; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Edward James Tejeda, who passed away in 1996; her parents, Paul and Alberta Fisher; and one brother, Paul Fisher.
