  Obituary Winchendon, Massachusetts - Dorothy M. (Bell) Botti Hicks, 90, died Saturday, March 16, in Mariner Health Care Center, Fitchburg, MA, after an illness. Her husband, Percy C. Hicks, died in 1992. Her first husband, Frank P. Botti, died in 1975. She leaves a son, Raymond F. Botti; a daughter, Janice C. Paquin, both of Winchendon; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was born in Malden, MA, September 18, 1905, daughter of Frederick Didier and Hattie Maude (Dow) Bell, and lived in Winchendon, Fitzwilliam, N.H., and Templeton, MA before returning to Winchendon 22 years ago. She was a 1924 graduate of Athol High School. She and her first husband owned and operated the former Strawberry Acres Restaurant in Fitzwilliam, for many years. They then owned Gleason's Package Store in Templeton before their retirement. She was cafeteria manager at the Woodcock Elementary School for 12 years, many years ago. Mrs. Hicks was a member of United Parish Church, and was former secretary for 25 years of Lt. Frederick Wilder White Post VFW Auxiliary in Winchendon. She had been secretary of the Winchendon Tax-payers Association and of the Ipswich Drive Tenants Council, and was a member of the Stonington-Deer Isle (Maine) Historical Society. She enjoyed cooking and knitting. Dorothy was very proud of her heritage, being a direct descendant of Mark Haskell Sr. who settled in Deer Isle in 1770 and of William Haskell Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 19, in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, Winchendon. The Rev. Daniel K. Martin, interim paster of the United Parish, officiated. The eulogy and words of remembrance were given by Isabelle V. Peterson. Burial took place in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon.
