  The Lethbridge Herald May 15, 1968 ALLEN - Heber Franklin, beloved husband of Mrs. Grace Doxey Allen of Raymond, passed away in Raymond on May 13, at the age of 74 years. Born in Cardston on March 17, 1894, the late Mr. Allen moved to Raymond in 1904 where he has resided since. He has been an active member of the L.D.S. church holding many responsible positions including Bishop for ten years, councilor in the Taylor Stake Presidency for 11 years as well as being an outstanding teacher. He was a well known merchant and farmer of Raymond, assuming charge of the store that his father Heber Simeon Allen established as early as 1903. Mr. Allen fulfilled a mission in the north eastern United States. He recieved his primary education in Raymond and his higher education was obtained in accountancy and agriculture in Utah, Chicago and New York City. He has been associated with Ellison Milling Co. as a director for many years. His interests have greatly varied including ranching, farming, feeding, as well as business. He was greatly interested in sports, having won the championship in handball while at college. He loved tennis and had built his own court in Raymond; curling, helping establish one of the first rinks in the area. He was also interested in boxing having trained his son Douglas, who was Canadian Champion for one year and runner up for two years. Of recent years Mr. Allen has been an ardent golfer. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Dr. Douglas N. Allen of Calgary; four daughters, Mrs. Larry (Marion) Johnson of Provo, Utah, Mrs. Ben Doran (Louise) Kenney of Sunnvale, California, Mrs. James D. (Margaret) Bridge and Mrs. Joseph (Katherine) Keeler, both of Raymond; one step son, Samuel George Doxey of Orem, Utah; one step daughter, Mrs. Darrel C. Hansen of Kaysville, Utah; one brother, John L. Allen of Raymond and four sisters, Mrs. William (Maralda) McKay and Mrs. Roldolph (Viola) Wing both of Raymond, Mrs. Clifford (Hazel) Snow and Mrs. Melbourne (Lucille) Douglas both of Utah; also 33 grandchildren. Interment in Temple Hill cemetery.
