  The Salt Lake Tribune (UT) July 20, 2000 Asael "Ace" LeRoy Allen : Ace passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2000. He was born December 18, 1924 in Hyrum, Utah to Victor J. and Harriet Letitia Dunn Allen. After graduating from South Cache High School in 1943, he served in World War II as a member of Company G 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment in France. He played football for the army after the war. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1950 with a degree in geology. While there, he played football for the "Runnin' Utes". Ace married Leone Garratt on March 20, 1948 in Salt Lake, They had three children. The family lived in Modesto, CA and Pocatello, ID. Leone died in September, 1983. Ace retired in 1987 from FMC after 36 years of service. He moved to Salt Lake after his retirement. Dad enjoyed watching sports, fishing, camping, dancing, and spent some time tying flies and playing poker. He was a sweetheart. Ace is survived by his three children, David J (Mulvane, KS), Carol Sue (Boise, ID), and Barbara Renee (Sandy, UT); brothers, Victor Jay (Reno, NV) and LeMont D (Pacheco, CA); sister, Mary Nielsen (Hyrum UT); nieces, neph-ews and many long time friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sisters, Letitia and "Netta."
