Ruth Petersen Borlase, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Ruth was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Hyrum to Alma Eugene and Leora Nielsen Petersen. She was the second of six children. She graduated from South Cache High School and enjoyed her youth very much.
Ruth married her true love, Douglas Rozsa Borlase in the Logan Temple, Feb. 4, 1936. Ruth served in several positions in the LDS Church. Ruth and Doug lived in Logan in the early years of their married life. They moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, in 1943 and lived there until moving to Las Vegas in 1983. Ruth and Doug returned to Logan in 1998. Ruth loved life and shopping. She had a great sense of humor, laughed a lot and we all laughed with her. She always had a very bright, enthusiastic and positive approach to life. She was devoted to her husband and family and was always serving others. She always took good care of herself and lived a very active life. She loved to play golf with Doug and her many friends. Ruth loved to dress in bright colors, and it was always fun to see her latest creation.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Doug; children, Richard (Sandy) Borlase, Las Vegas, Nev., Jack (Lynette) Borlase, Twin Falls, Idaho, Sydne (Larry) Winborg, Hyde Park, and Linda (Dave) Smith, Nucla, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rhea Lundahl, Sacramento Calif., Delone (Wes) Bailey, Almo, Calif.; brothers, Derrall (Karen) Petersen, Hyrum, and Dennis (Kaye) Petersen, Providence; and sister-in-law, Bara Petersen, Paul, Idaho.
