  The Deseret News May 19, 1993 John L. Hancock, age 71, of Roswell, Georgia, died May 16, 1993. Born October 16, 1921 in Salt Lake City, son of Winfield Scott and E. Mable Shaw Hancock. Married Joy Ada Ann Thomas February 9, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. John was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a very active member of the LDS Church. Survived by wife, Joy, Roswell, Georgia; two daughters, one son and their spouses, Linda and Terry Wilson, Roswell, Georgia; Sally and Ronald Butterfiled, Kearns; John S. and Kris Hancock, Sandy; sisters, Mrs. Donna Martinson, West Valley City; Lois and Douglas Anderson, Midvale; brother, Dale and Shirley Hancock, West Valley; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
