  The Idaho Statesman (Boise, ID) April 24, 2007 Val George Hopkins, age 73, of Boise, Idaho, quietly passed away April 21, 2007. He was born May 12, 1933 in North Logan, Utah to Edgar Lester Hopkins and Grace Allen. He attended schools in North Logan and Logan, Utah until the fifth grade when the family moved to Boise, Idaho, where he graduated from Boise High School in 1951. Val met Wyona Valene Bahr the summer of 1953 and they were married July 7, 1954, in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. He was actively involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Scouting where he helped 33 young men attain the rank of Eagle Scout. Woodworking and wrought iron work were only two of Val´s many hobbies. Val was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Wynn, a daughter, Brenda and a great-grandson Zachery; three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, four daughters, Becky (Hal) Hunt, Launa (Gari) Allen, Maryann (Allen) Green, Connie (Bryan) Whitmarsh, all of Boise; 15 grandchildren of whom nine are married, and 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lester and Dale Hopkins of Boise and Terry Hopkins of Ammon, ID and numerous extended family members and friends.
