Raised in Murray, Utah. Graduated from Murray High School. Graduated from University of Utah Medical School age 23. Married Luella Bailey June 9, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. Preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 1977. Completed medical residency in Philadelphia. Captain in United States Army. Active duty during the Korean War. Began Pathology Practice in Portland, Oregon. Returned to Salt Lake in 1958. Pathologist at St. Marks Hospital and Cottonwood Hospital. Founded Pathology Associates Laboratory. Married Pamela Faye Howarth January 16, 1993 in the Jordan River Temple. Active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions including High Council and Bishop. Active in the community and politics. Survived by wife, Pamela; children, Jeffrey, Michael (Debra), Kevin (DebbieLynne), Jared (Janene), Susan (Rick) Hafen, Betsy (Ron) Cazier, and Matthew (Keri); 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol LaRocco; brother-in-law, Jack Divine; sister-in-law, Barbara (Craig) Park.
