Douglas R. Anderson, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, age 67, passed away on October 18, 1998 following surgery for a brain tumor. He was born May 26, 1931 in Sandy, Utah to Rudolph Axel Anderson and Florence Justensen. Douglas enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps in October, 1951 and served until October, 1959. He was in active service during the Korean Conflict. Douglas was baptised into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in June 1953. He married Lois Hancock on June 11, 1953 and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 28, 1959. Douglas worked in the field of finance and banking for several years. He currently was the owner of Anderson Accounting and Tax Services. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in numerous positions in the ward and stake and had just finished a five year tenure as a Stake High Councilor. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed his life interests of the outdoors, collecting rare coins, Navajo weavings and objects of fine china. He had a great love for his country, and especially enjoyed touring Utah and the neighboring states.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Steven Douglas Anderson; Cathi L. Anderson-Sorensen; David Harold Anderson and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Steven Paul Anderson, Jacqueline Anderson, Tara Anderson, Austin David Anderson, Colton Dean Anderson, Kaitlin Anderson, Dylan Douglas Anderson and Jessica Lynn Sorensen; brother, Roland (Ann) Anderson; sister, Elaine (Gordon) Fry; sisters-in-law, Donna Martinson and Shirley Hancock; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
