  Delphos Daily Herald July 8, 2004 Ethel Brickey Freund of St. Germain died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. She was 79. Mrs. Freund was born June 26, 1925, in Eagle River, the daughter of Frank and Loretta Swett. A lifelong area resident, she worked at Simpson Electric for 10 years. She also served as a trustee for Walter E. Olson Memorial Library for seven years and as St. Germain town treasurer for 14 years. She was active with the Vilas County Commission on Aging and was a member of St. Germain Shipmates. Mrs. Freund was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Brickey, and second husband, Don Freund; her parents; her brother, Jay; her sister, Betty Atkins; and a great-grandchild. Survivors include one daughter, Peggy (Al Ray) Cleveland of Eagle River; two sons, Jim (Sue) Brickey of Eagle River and Michael (Marge) Brickey of Winter; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Burial was in Eagle River Cemetery.
