Robert H. Swett, age 78, of Rhinelander, died on March 11, 2010, at the Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff. He was born on May 24, 1931, in Conover, to Raymond and Beatrice (Squires) Swett. Bob attended schools in Eagle River graduating from the Eagle River High School in 1949. After his schooling he moved to Rhinelander and went to work for the Rhinelander Paper Company. It was after quite a number of years at the paper mill, more specifically the early 1970's, that Bob began Bob's Painting and Decorating. This new venture was so successful that he retired from the paper mill and devoted all his time to his new business. He was somewhat active in the business up until the time of his death.
Bob had many interests and loved to be around others. He thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the "Monster Buck Club" and he was a former member of the Rhinelander Lion's Club. Earlier in life he loved to participate in all kinds of athletics, especially hockey, softball, bowling and the like. He was a co-founder of the Rhinelander Pool League, he loved to hunt and fish and of course, he was a big Green Bay Packer fan.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Deborah Bell of San Diego, Calif.; his son, David (Wendy) Swett of Rhinelander; his grandson, Daniel; his granddaughter, Cory; his great grandsons, Terry and Jacob; his sister, Margaret (Richard) Heitmann of Baraboo; his two brothers, Ralph (Betty) Swett of Wakefield, Mich. and Kenneth (Jeanne) Swett of Waterford; nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Lee.
