Matthew John Swett, age 24, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, January 25, 2003 in Waterloo, Iowa from a tragic accident. He was born January 7, 1979 in Green Bay, Wisconsin son of Keith and Jean (Eichinger) Swett. Matt graduated from Seymour Community High School in 1997 and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on December 22, 2001. He married his soul mate, best friend, and true love, Sharon Ebersberger on August 3, 2002 at Crystal Springs Golf Course, Seymour, Wisconsi
Matt was heavily involved in music, theatre, and sports throughout his life. His passions included spending time with his family, cooking, movies, travel, speaking French, and reading - anything from comic books to world literature. He was a gifted storyteller and believed in his father's philosophy, "Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story." He was an outgoing people person and loved talking with his family and friends. He was an incurable romantic and proposed to Sharon in a small garden in Paris. Matt was employed as a Recruiter for Hamilton College, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, Cedar Falls, Iowa his parents, Keith and Jean Swett and his sister, Laura, Seymour his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pauline Miller and Bruce Ebersberger and their families of Owatonna, Minnesota his maternal grandfather, Roy Eichinger, Eau Claire his paternal grandmother, Genevieve Swett, Marshfield Aunt Marie Eichinger, Madison his aunts and uncles: Nancy and David Cedarstrom, Verona Wendy and Stan Pajala, and son, Cole, Washburn Dean and Theresa Swett, and daughter, Danielle, Neillsville.
He was preceded in death in by his maternal grandmother, Evadine Eichinger and his paternal grandfather, Jay Swett.
The burial will be in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
