Born January 25, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Lawrence Wilford and Leone Davies Standing. Married Ann Von Rotz; later divorced. Married Melba Lorrene Allen. Lawrence worked as a golf caddie as a young man, and then worked as a custodian for the Salt Lake School District and ZCMI for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Melba; sons, Lawrence Dale Standing Jr., Ronald Lee Standing and Gordon Dale Standing; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; half-brothers, Vaughn Standing and Earl Standing; and half-sister, Mary Lou Broadwater.
