  The Montana Standard January 5, 2004 ANACONDA - Celebration of Life service for John Charles "Dooge" Schalk will be conducted at noon Saturday in Anaconda High School's Memorial Gymna-sium, with Pastor Ted Hamann officiating. Cremation follows with inurnment at a later date. John died peacefully Saturday from complications of muscular dystrophy. He was born Aug. 14, 1986, in Butte to John F. and Julie A. (Ohman) Schalk. John attended Lincoln Grade School, Fred Moodry Middle School and was a junior at Anaconda High. In 1998, through Hope Project, John and his family saw the Miami Dolphins play; he was also a Grizzlies fan and participated in Special Olympics. He recently received the Spirit of Discovery Award. Survivors include his parents John and Julie Schalk; brother Jarred; many aunts, uncles and their families; grandmother, Patty Schalk, Anaconda; grandfather, Charles Ohman, Anaconda; great-grandmother, Rose Albright, Anaconda; numerous friends and the veryspecial, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Laughlin. His grandfather John Schalk, grandmother Suzanne Ohman, and great-grandfather Tom Albright predeceased John.
