Thelma (Mrs. Cletus) Boehmer, 85, a former resident of Cedar Terrace South, Charles City, died Wednsday, August 22, 2001, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
Thelma Lucille O'Donnell was born April 17, 1916, atElma, the daughter of Charles and Beatrice (Wood) O'Donnell. She recieved her education from the Alta Vista Public School. On April 17, 1934, she was united in marriage to Cletus Boehmer at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Alta Vista. Cletus died on December 23, 1978. Thelma worked at the Charles City Laundry for 10 years and at Riverside Chautauqua GuestHome for 10 years. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, The St. Francis Circle and the 500 Card Club. Thelma enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, attending family gatherings, bird watching, gardening and sewing.
Living family members include three sons and their wives; Norb and Barb Boehmer of Lacey, Wash., Daniel and Janet Boehmer of Janesville, Minn., David and Joyce Boehmer of Charles City; four daughters and their husbands; Yvonne "Pat" and Bill Smith of Des Moines, Marilyn and Dean Good of Council Bluffs, Monita and Russell Engstler of Garner and Marjorie and Cliff Kolthoff of Denver. 27 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Vera and her husband Lee Ross of Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Cletus Jr. "Tony" Boehmer; a great granddaughter Megan Smith; two brothers and two sisters.
