Mrs. Stearns was born April 20, 1924, in Munich, Germany. Her maiden name was Sommer. She immigrated to the Portland area in 1952. She owned and operated the Triple XXX Restaurant in Sandy from 1965 until retiring in the early 1990s. In 1952, she married Elmer Stearns; he died in 1964. Survivors include her daughter, Sibylla Ruth Miller of Tigard; son, Roger E. of Portland; sister, Lotte Teague of Boring; brother, Johann Gall of Munich; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery.
