RUSSIAVILLE -- Mrs. Lina Haskell, 86, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for seven weeks. She had been in failing health for two years.
Born in Ervin Township, Howard County, July 22, 1883, she was the daughter of Oliver and Effie (Brower) Platt. In 1903 she was married to William C. Haskell, who preceded her in death June 3, 1945.
She had lived in the West Middleton and Russiaville areas most of her life and was a member of the Russiaville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. B.C. (Lurene) Kerkhove, Camden; Mrs. Harriet Selph, Russiaville, and Mrs. Ted (Catherine) Kreseen, Burlington; a nephew raised in the home, H.D. Hankins, Kokomo; one sister, Mrs. Roxie Varner, Flora; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One sister is deceased.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Sout Funeral Home here with the Rev. Gene Voss officiating. Burial will ben in the Prairieville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
