Eleanor Louise Wright, 85, Marion, died at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born in Sweetser, IN, to the late Roy and Lucille (Amos) Haskell.
Eleanor was a graduate of Sweetser High School. She owned and operated Sue-Lin's Dress Shop in Sweetser for several years and previously worked as a bookkeeper and treasurer for the Oak Hill United Schools Corporation. After retirement, Eleanor worked part-time in the clothes department at Sears. She was a very active member of Sweetser United Methodist Church, where she served as the treasurer and volunteered much of her time to United Methodist Women and several other church groups. Eleanor also enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, watching sports, playing Euchre, and reading.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda (David) Shelford, Venice, FL; grandchildren, Kara (Freddie) Brush, Michael (Crystal) Shelford, and Amanda Lantz; five great-grandchildren; sister, Sue (Ronnie) Edwards; brother, Terry (Sandy) Haskell; sister-in-law, Cheryl Haskell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her first husband, Delbert Smith, in 1977; second husband, Charles Wright, in 2008; daughter, Susan Lantz; granddaughter, Kathy Shelford; and three brothers, Max, Don, and Dean Haskell.
