  Times Herald August 10, 2006 PORT HURON Mrs. L. Joan Hayden, 78, of Port Huron, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 in Port Huron Hospital. She was born April 27, 1928 in Port Huron to the late Paul and Alice Angbrandt. She married Ray L. Hayden on April 8, 1947 in Port Huron. He died March 22, 2003. Mrs. Hayden was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the church choir. Earlier in life she sold silverware to newlyweds and was a sales associate at Volmers, The Mulberry Bush, Vivian Woodard Cosmetics, and Avon. Later in life she was a school aide while living in Arizona, was a volunteer at Evangelical Nursing Home and enjoyed needlework, quilting, and generously gave the items to others. She was an unselfish person who devoted her life to helping others. She loved animals, especially her dogs. Mrs. Hayden showed her children how to go about living life. She is survived by five children, Mark (Pam) Hayden of Port Huron, Marsha (Philip) Larson of Fort Gratiot, Michael (Wanda) Hayden of Port Huron, Randal (Lisa) Hayden of St. Clair, and Richard Hayden; six grandchildren, Katherin (Daniel) Johnson, Scott, Justin, and Michael Hayden, Beth (Jason) Sparling, and Jon Hayden; five greatgrandchildren, Caitlyn, Nicole, and Logun Johnson, and Sophie and Parker Sparling; a brother, Mel Angbrandt of Smiths Creek; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Farrington and Geraldine Francisco; and a nephew, Peter Farrington.
