  Flint newspaper February 26, 1930 Frank D. Buckingham, 515 Liberty st., vice president of the Citizens Commercial and Savings bank and formerly one of the owners of the Buckingham Clothing Co., died late yesterday in Phoenix, Ariz., of pneumonia following an illness of one week. No arrangements for funeral services have been made but it is expected that his body will be returned to Flint. Mr. Buckingham was born in Flint, June 30, 1868, a son of Mr. And Mrs. George W. Buckingham. He attended Flint High school in his youth. During the Spanish American war, he served as a captain under Col. Irish, having organized the 35th Michigan infantry. He was stationed in the Philippine Islands during the war and at its termination he was appointed first lieutenant in the regular army and stationed in San Francisco. In 1900, when his father died, he returned to Flint to take charge of the clothing store with his brother Lewis, which they carried on until eight years ago when sold their interests. Besides serving as vice president of the Citizens' bank for more than 25 years, he was also since 1920, vice president and a director of the Guaranty Title & Mortgage Co., and a member of the board of directors of the Copeland Refrigeration Co. of Detroit. He married Nancy Hascall in Flint on Sept. 21, 1904. He was a member of the Genesee Valley commandery, Flint Lodge, No. 222, B.P.O.E., and was past president of the Flint Country club. The entire family of Mr. Buckingham was in Phoenix for a winter vacation, having motored there from Flint about two weeks ago. Surviving are his wife, and two children, George W. and Nancy Isabelle all of Flint; his brother, Lewis of Flint; and one sister, Miss Abigail Buckingham, of Los Angeles who was with him at his death.
