- Per his daughter Nancy, we know the following about Carleton. He graduated from Michigan Tech, now called Michigan Tech University. He taught there for a while, then went to work as a mining Engineer in Marquette. He worked for the John Munro Longyear Mining Co.

Carlton C. Hascall, 69, grandson of Flint's first mayor, Grant Decker, and consulting engineer at Michigan College of Mining and Technology, died today at his home in Marquette, after a brief illness.
Mr. Hascall was born in Flint in 1886. He attended the old Flint High School, and later the Houghton mining college. He retuned to Flint after graduating from college and worked for the old Waston-Mott Co. a short time before it merged with Buick in 1913. He worked in the engineering department at Buick until 1918, when he left to take a position at the college.
Those surviving include his wife, Margaret, a son [illegible], Gross Isle, & a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Krohn, Fort Knox, Ky., and a sister, Mrs. Frank Buckingham, Flint

Funeral services for Carleton C. Hascall, 69, a pioneer Flint automotive employee and grandson of Flint's first mayor, Grant Decker, will be held Saturday at Marquette.
Mr. Hascall, who died suddenly yesterday at a Marquette hospital after a brief illness, was a consulting engineer at the Michigan College of Mining and Technology.
A graduate of the old Flint High school and the Houghton mining college, he was employed at Buick until 1916, when he returned to the Houghton school as a consultant.
He was brother of Mrs. Frank Buckingham of Flint. Other survivors include his widow, the former Miss Margaret Sherman of Marquette, a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Krohn, Fort Knox, Ky., and a son James Hascall, Gross Isle.
