  Jafy and Beulah were high school classmates in Bucklin Kansas. Jafy own ed and operated a confectionery store, which he sold when drafted to serve in WWI. He served in France with rank as private and bugler. Upon his return from service, he purchased a grocery store in Newton, Harvey, Kansas.
