ROME, Ind. '97 Mildred "Millie" Winchell Langdon, 88, formerly of Rome, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Tell City.
Millie was born in Rome on May 15, 1921, daughter of the late James H. Thomas and Zoa Schellenberger Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Harold S. Winchell, in 1972 and Joseph Langdon, in 1997, her sister, Mary Lee Corbin, her brother, Hewitt H. Thomas and her son-in-law, Paul Minto.
Millie worked for eight years at Commercial Filters in Tell City, then retired in 1984 from the former Index Store after 10 years of employment. She was a member of the Rome United Methodist Church.
Millie is survived by a daughter, Sally Minto, Tell City, Indiana; a son, Jim Winchell and his wife, Wanda, Rome, Indiana; and five grandchildren, Jeff, Tracy and Todd Minto, Keith Whitehead and Rita Dykes. There are eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
