MAGNET, Ind. -- Bernard "Sox" Etienne, 67, died Saturday, June 5, 1999 at Perry County Memorial Hospital of a stroke.
He was a substance abuse counselor at Branchville Training Center and was a farmer. He was a Korean War Marine Corps veteran, a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold and a graduate of Oil Township High School.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Betz of Schnellville; three sons, Burke of Tell City, Kevin of Branchville and Scot of Magnet; two sisters, Lorene Jones of Louisville and Susie Evans of Washington; five brothers, Justin and Robert Paul, both of Magnet, Thomas J. of Haymarket, Va., Anthony of Warsaw and Hubert of Washington; and 10 grandchildren, Benjamin James, Anthony Jerome and Jacqueline Ann Betz, Zachariah Burke, Adrienne Nichole, Ariel Elizabeth, Crystal Noel, Kevin Nicholas and Laranda Dawn Etienne and Cynthia Ann Tabor. His wife, Doris (Sweat), died in 1998.
