  St. Albans Daily Messenger June 1, 1888 A Rutland dispatch of the 31st ult. says: Herbert Hascall, aged 22, an engineer on the Bennington and Rutland railroad, while assisting to make a flying switch at Danby at 6:30 this evening, fell from the top of a car and three cars passed over him, killing him instantly. The body was brought home here. He leaves a widow. He has been married only four weeks. He is the fourth in his family to meet death on the railroad.
