Services for Lloyd R. Hascall were conducted Monday morning, Aug. 28, from St. Luke's United Methodist Church, David City. Mr. Hascall, 80, died Thursday, Aug. 24 at the Butler County Health Care Center. Rev. Michael Conner officiated at the service. Sheri Lange, soloist was accompanied by Carol Fuxa, organist. Jess Robins, Shawn Robins, Kurt Kuhlman, Kory Kuhlman, Jess Vasina and Darin Glenn were pallbearers. Burial was in David City cemetery.
Lloyd R. Hascall, the son of George and Etta Pollman Hascall, was born Nov. 3, 1914, near Garrison. He graduated from David High School in 1933. He was united in marriage to Thelma West on March 24, 1941, at Franklin. Six children were born to this union.
A retired farmer he was engaged in farming near Rising City and David City. He coached youth baseball at Garrison for many years. Following retirement from farming in 1977, he served as Superintendent of David City Golf Course for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma of David City; three sons and daughters in law, Randy and Barbara Hascall, of Tea, S.D., Gary and Marilyn Hascall of David City and Brent and Sara Hascall of South Sioux City; three daughters and sons in law, Deanna and Jim Robins of David City, Carol and John Vasina of Columbus and Marlene and Neil Kuhlman of David City; three sisters, Viva McCall of David City aand Hazel Wiegardt and Dorothy Hull, both of Grand Island and 11 grandchildren. His parents; two brothers, Arlie and Earl and two infant grandchildren preceded him in death.
