Larry Melvin Rodgers, age 64, passed away at home in the arms of his loving wife Kayla on Jan. 27, 2004, after a valiant battle with cancer. Married Kayla Peterson Rosenlof in 2003, his love, friend and companion for several years.
Larry has an extremely gentle soul as all who knew him know. He loved Jeeping in Moab with family and friends all his life, since his children were small. In recent years he enjoyed many trips to Mexico and points between with Kayla. On separate trips he took along seven year old step-grandson Tevin, and 15 year old step-granddaughter Cherie. He loved showing them the wild burros and treating them to experiencing Mexico. His granddaughter Haley would have been next. Larry worked many years and retired from HAFB in 2003.
Survived by his wife; two sons: Lodge and Forrest (Natalie); granddaughters Haley Ann and Whitney; stepchildren: Holly, Julie and Douglas; Step grandchildren: Cherie, Tevin, Tia, Sydney, Jade and Sabian, all of whom loved and adored him "more than words could ever say".
He was a great lover of cats and will be sorely missed by Tiger, Fluffy and Velvet.
