  Newsletter of the Haskell Family Society Volume 7, No. 4, December 1998 A prominent citizen of Houston, Texas, USA, Mrs. Wendy Haskell Meyer died in hospital, age 62, on February 17, 1987, following a long bout with cancer. Mrs. Meyer was a former editor of the Ultra and Houston Home and Garden magazines and co-founder of The Senior Class. She founded and at the time of her death was a partner in the public relations firm of Meyer and Griffin. She was born November 5, 1924, and had graduated from Smith College and Boston University. Survivors included her husband, John Stirling Meyer, M. D.; five daughters: Jane Stirling Meyer, Anne M. Wilkinson, Elizabeth M. Ries, Helen M. Smith and Margaret Stirling Meyer; her mother, Emily Haskell; three brothers: Peter, Henry and David Haskell; and. one sister, Mercy Wheeler. Her concern for surviving family and friends led Mrs. Meyer to write, with the help of her husband and five daughters, a memorial service, held Sunday, March 15, 1987, with the Reverend Giles F. Lewis, Jr, officiating.
