Charlotte E. "Danny" Korver, age 90 of Battle Creek, died Monday, March 23, 2009 at Bickford Cottage. Aunt Danny, as she was known by all, was born November 4, 1918 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Evelyn (Chapin) Campbell.
She lived in Battle Creek where her father owned a grocery store on Jordan and later Upton Avenue, until the family moved to Hickory Corners. She graduated from Kellogg Agriculture School in 1937 and after graduation worked as a telephone operator in Hickory Corners. She later moved to Battle Creek and worked as an elevator operator in the old Post Building. It was there that she met her husband, Robert Korver and they were married in the First Presbyterian Church on May 14, 1949.
Together they built a home in Battle Creek later moving to Gull Lake where they lived for many years until moving to Kalamazoo.
Surviving are two sisters: Bernadine Town of Chatham, MA, and Evelyn "Lala" Hinson (Bob) Ulve of Green Valley, AZ; nieces and nephews: Kathlene Brady of Drummond Island, Jane Kelly, Christina (Joe) Faser and Ben (Linda) Hinson all of California, Nancy Camperella and Wesley (Mary) Cottrell both of Walled Lake and Terrance (Betty) Brady of Edwardsburg; she is also survived by her dear friend, Rodney Kasdorf; a niece, Janet Gibbs; and Janet's children: Michael (Shari) Gibbs, Mark (Lisa) Gibbs and Sheryl (Abe) Leaver. She enjoyed her great nieces and nephew: Lindsey and Allie Gibbs, Tara Longman, Maddie and Peyton Leaver and Brandie and Jami Gibbs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers: Lawrence in 1912 and Wesley in 1941; and sisters: Suelette Brady, Norma Jean Cottrell, Marcelele Cleveland, Marvel "Pete" Willis Bleecker; and two nephews: Gordon Willis and David Town.
