  The Modesto Bee October 30, 1992 March 13, 1905 --Oct. 26, 1992 Lavena G. Brown, 87, of Modesto died Monday at Oak Valley District Hospital in Oakdale. Mrs. Brown was a native of Lafayette, Ind., and lived in Modesto since 1982. She was a seamstress 50 years. She was a member of Seventh-day Church of God. She is survived by her children, Evelyn Hillard of Apache Junction, Ariz.; brother, Ted Gushwa of Boise, Idaho; sisters, Laura B. Stingely of Lafayette, Ind., and Daisey Stark of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
