  The Bakersfield Californian July 21, 2002 At her request no services will be held for Helen Mae Thompson, 88, who passed away July 17, 2002, in Bakersfield. Helen was born on July 13, 1914, in Toledo, Ohio and resided in Kern County for 44 years. Mrs. Thompson was the co-owner and operator of Ben Hur Pest Control for 20 years, along with her husband Charles. She was a member of Southern California Pest Control Association and Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2001 and one brother. She is survived by her daughter Pat Scott of Bakersfield; granddaughter Sherry Oliver of Bakersfield; great-granddaughter Kandra Smith of Westwood, CA; sister Gerry Morris and niece Darlene Scripps both of Cody, Wyoming.
