Robert "Bob" Ballda Dreizler, 87, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2013, in Sedona, Arizona. He died peacefully in the presence of his loving wife, Ann. He was born on October 1, 1925, to Carl and Edythe Dreizler in Frankfort, New York.
Bob graduated from Frankfort High School in 1943. He joined the Navy during World War II and served his country for four years before finishing his education at the University of Kansas.
In 1947, Bob moved to New Kensington, PA, where his oldest son, Robert, was born. From there he moved to Fort Wayne, IN, where his second and third children, Gayle and Carl, were born. In 1956, he moved his family to Redondo Beach, CA, where his youngest three children, Loch, Robin and Sarah, were born.
During his career in Southern California, Bob worked for, among others, Ramo Wooldridge, Aerospace Corporation and Great Western Savings. In 1970, he married Ann Carrasco, the love of his life. The two were married over 43 years. Bob was also a loving step-father to Ann's son, John Carrasco.
After their retirement in 1985, Bob and Ann moved back to Ilion, New York, close by his home town, where they ran "Chesam Place", a bed and breakfast located on the old Erie Canal. In 2001, the two moved to Sedona, Arizona, where they have lived since. They recently moved to Sedona Winds in Oak Creek, AZ.
Bob was very active through the years in many charity causes including the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, the Erie Canal and YMCA. No matter where Bob lived, visited or volunteered, he always left the place better than how he found it.
He is survived by his wife, Ann, of Oak Creek, AZ, and his sister, Jewel Vayo, of Ilion, NY. He is also survived by six children, Robert "Laurie" Dreizler (Stacey), of Sacramento, CA, Gayle Albin-Bailey (Doug) and Carl Dreizler, of Redondo Beach, Loch Dreizler (Ann), of Arroyo Grande, CA, Robin Dreizler (Dina), of San Pedro, CA, and Sarah Cummings (Jay B), of Heber City, UT. He was also a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well as uncle to the children of his two sisters. All will miss him terribly.
