Port Isabel, Texas - Tom Bealer, 75, of Port Isabel, formerly of East Moline, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Zana and Red Bealer; daughter, Cindy Bealer; brother, Pat Bealer; and a sister, Delores Bealer.
Tom is survived by his wife, Jean Bealer; daughter, Shari Bealer; son, Dusty Bealer; two grandchildren, Justin Bealer and Nicole Bealer; four brothers, Ken Bealer, Bill Bealer, Jack Bealer and Richard Bealer; three sisters, Jackie Bealer Gatton, Sharon Bealer Hentzen and Sally Bealer Strom and a host of nieces and nephews.
Tom was born on January 1, 1934, in Rock Island, a son of Leonard (Red) and Zana Cook Bealer. The Bealer family moved to Port Byron, Ill., when Tom was very young.
On August 25, 1957, he married Lucille Watson and had three children. On October 10, 1976, Tom was united in marriage to Jean Smith Copley.
Tom worked at Farmall International Harvester Works for 28 years along with working at Consumer Ready Mix for 10 years. He loved the river along with boating, fishing, reading and his Labs - Smoky, Jeb, DeeDee and BoBo.
