  St. Petersburg Times (FL) May 19, 1993 ABBOTT WALTER ROSS, 77, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (May 16, 1993) at St. Anthony's Hospital. Born in Homer, Ill., he came here in 1976 from Rock Island, Ill. An Army technical sergeant during World War II, he later was a gunsmith at the U.S. Arsenal in Rock Island. He was past commander of AMVETS in Illinois and member of the VFW Post 6827 and DAV, both of St. Petersburg. In Illinois, he was past master of Eureka Lodge 69 F&AM, and Moline Consistory, both of Milan. He also was a member of the Egypt Shrine Temple, Tampa, and of the Elks Lodge in Illinois and Florida. Survivors include his wife, Doris V.; a sister, Norma Fonderoli, Dalzell, Ill.; a brother, Donald, Mendota, Ill.; and eight nieces and nephews. Alan R.
