  Hillsboro Argus, Hillsboro Oregon February 9, 1975 Vernonia, - Charles Hascall, 77, a resident of Timber Route, Jewell and Vernonia areas for the past 30 years, died at the Forest Grove Community Hospital Saturday. Mr. Hascall was born in Pilot Rock Nov. 9, 1897. He spent (much) of his early life in the Pilot Rock and Pendleton areas, where he farmed. After 1933, he worked as a sheep shearer in Montana and Idaho. In 1945, he was married to Hazel Riddrebush and they lived in the Jewell and Elderberry district and Birkenfield, then in 1957, moved to a place on Timber Rt. Mr. Hascall moved into Vernonia in 1971. Surviving are sons, James of Portland and Walter of Salem; brother Lewis of Eugene; sisters, Daphna Merkling of Pendleton and Eleanor Northrup of Bellingham, Wash., and a Grandson, Charles J.
