PENDLETON - Daphna Alice Merkling, 92, of Pendleton, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000 (sic), at her home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m., at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton.
Mrs. Merkling was born Aug. 10, 1908, at Pilot Rock, to Arthur and Maggie Palmer Hascall. She had been a resident of Pendleton since 1943. Mrs. Merkling was employed at Eastern Oregon State Hospital for 15 years. She made and sold doll clothes, including Barbie Doll clothes, and donated the money to the First Assembly of God Church missions. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Pendleton.
Survivors include a son, Berkeley D. Merkling of Lewiston, Idaho, and daughters, Barbara J. Furniss, and Mona D. West, both of Pendleton; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Roland Merkling, and two grandsons.
