  Lewiston Evening Journal July 29, 1969 Monmouth - Elmer S. Hascall, 74, died unexpectedly at his home Monday. Born in Durham, March 27, 1895, he was the son of Ralph J. and Rozella Nichols Hascall. He was educated in Monmouth. In 1917, he married in Norway, the former Ruby Day of Monmouth. For many years, he manufactured moccasins in Monmouth and operated the E. S. Hascall Grain Store. Recently, he was an assistant pathologist at Highmoor Farm. He was the town clerk of Monmouth for 43 years and was a member of the 88th Legislature as a representative fro Monmouth, Litchfield and Winthrop. Mr. Hascall was also a member of the Methodist Church, and past master and 50 year member of Monmouth Lodge, AF and AM, and past patron and 50 year member of Boynton Chapter, OES. Survivors include his widow of Monmouth, a daughter, Mrs Jean Walker, Monmouth, a sister, Mrs. Lena Jumper, Lewiston; and two grandchildren.
