  The Daily Nonpareil January 15, 1982 Fern L. Stephens, 73, died Thursday at a Polk City nursing home where she had resided since 1978. Born at Coburg, she resided many years in Council Bluffs. Her husband George E. died in 1976. Mrs. Stephens graduated in 1927 from the Jennie Edmondson Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at hospital and at the Iowa School for the Deaf as a nurse retiring at ISD in 1972. She was a member of First Christian Church. Surving are a stepson, Everett L. Stephens of Des Moines; brother Glen Davis of Reedsport, Ore.; three sisters, Ruth Shaw of Glendora, Calif., Jeanette Booth of Escondido, Calif., and Dora Morse of Red Oak; two grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
