RICHARD ALBERT DOSTIE JR. OWNED BUSINESS, WORKED IN CONSTRUCTION
Richard Albert Dostie Jr., 49, died unexpectedly Monday at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor. He was born in Augusta, a son of Richard A. and Gladys Haskell Dostie. He grew up in the China area and attended Erskine Academy before graduating from Halldale High School, class of 1967. Mr. Dostie enjoyed sports, having played football, basketball and track in school. Following school, he was employed at Depositors Trust Company for several years. He then operated Richard Dostie Foundations with his father in the Augusta area, before relocating the business to the midcoast area. He had also been employed with Maynard E. Tolman and Starbird Construction. Mr. Dostie enjoyed reading and had a true appreciation for the outdoors. He will be remembered as a caring and compassionate person who never hesitated to lend a hand to family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Dianna Dostie of Rockland; his mother, Gladys Dostie of Augusta; his maternal grandmother, Hester Ellis of Hallowell; two daughters, Jessica Dostie and Jennifer Dostie, both of Rockland; four brothers, David G. of Warren, Paul R. of Rockland and Raymond G. and Arthur F., both of Augusta; two sisters, Mrs. Adelard (Carol J.) Ouellette of Pittston and Cynthia J. Savage of of Somerville.
