  Worcester Telegram & Gazette February 4, 1994 LEOMINSTER - Eugenie V. "Jenny" (Surette) Bachand, 87, formerly of 333 Elm St., a stitcher for 25 years, died Wednesday night in Leominster Hospital after a short illness. Her husband, Clarence A. Alden Bachand, died in 1992. She leaves two sons, Phillip A. and Alfred B. Bachand, both of Leominster; five daughters, Phyllis E. Bachand of Leominster, Fay I. Brooks and Jean F. Wallace, both of Fitchburg, Sandra Thomas in Delaware and Carol A. Gaylord of Oxford; a brother, Adrian Surette of Leominster; three sisters, Melanie A. Chesbrough and Eva B. Martin, both of Leominster, and Viola Hachey of Fitchburg; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Townsend, daughter of Phillip and Roseanna (Boise) Surette, and lived here all her life. Mrs. Bachand was a stitcher for 25 years at the former Cluett-Peabody Co., retiring in 1963. She previously worked at the former Independent Lock Co. in Fitchburg. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church and the Franco-American War Veterans Women's Auxiliary.
