Lorraine Clara Stimpson, 80, of Kooskia, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, of cancer.
Lorraine was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Middletown, Calif., to Clara Cortiz Rumfelt and Everett Parriott.
Lorraine graduated from Middletown High School and she married Willard Stimpson in 1959.
Besides being a loving wife, mother, rancher and homemaker, Lorraine was a founding member of Middletown Central Park Association and held many key positions for more than 20 years. Her life work was working on ranches. She spent 27 years or more working for West Coast Meat, Mangini Ranch, Diamond D Ranch and Barcloux Ranch, as well as raising some livestock of her own.
Willard and Lorraine moved to Kooskia from Middletown in 1993.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Rumfelt; father Everett Parriott; and her brothers, Ronnie and Gene Parriott.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Willard, at their Kooskia home; daughters and spouses, Jane Raymer of Kamiah, Helen and Joe Owen and Donna and Clay Ames, all of Middletown; sons Mike Francis of Middletown and Charlie Stimpson, of Stites; sisters Pat Blevins of Mesa, Ariz., Karen Redekar and Mary Wilson of Napa, Calif.; and brothers Bob Rumfelt of Lake Port, Calif., Lonnie Rumfelt of Redway, Calif., Don Parriott of Middletown and Frank Parriott of Lower Lake, Calif.; her grandchildren, Tracy Avina, Jimmy Dennis, Everett Francis, Kalley Ames, Josey Ames, Tyler Owen, Cambra Owen and Sabastian Stimpson; and her great-grandchildren, Jose Avina, Rosie Avina, Migual Avina, Alicia Dennis, Eric Dennis and Ciara Francis.
