  Kennebec Journal January 2, 2004 PALERMO -- Beverly W. Haskell, 65, of Palermo, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep Dec. 30, 2003, shortly after her arrival in Florida for her winter stay. Friday, January 2, 2004 PALERMO -- Beverly W. Haskell, 65, of Palermo, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Dec. 30, 2003, shortly after her arrival in Florida for her winter stay.She was born on July 13, 1938, in Vassalboro, a daughter of Freelan "Peanut" and Edna (Getchell) Willoughby. Bev spent many years employed at the Augusta City Police Department, where she worked as a dispatcher until disability forced her to retire. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, doing a variety of things such as going to Florida, playing cards and being with her companion dog, Teddy. She was very active in attending her great grandchildren's activities and will be sadly missed by all because of her kind and loving disposition towards life. She was predeceased by her parents; Freelan passed away in 1970 and Edna in 1992. She was also predeceased by one son, Dwain F. Haskell, who passed away on March 30, 2002. She is survived by her three children, son Dusty Haskell and his wife, Pam, of Palermo, a daughter, Dawn Haskell of Palermo, and son Dwight Haskell and his wife, Linda, of Liberty. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Jamie Haskell of Palermo, Kristy Millay and her husband, George, of Palermo, Tara Tracey of Liberty and Brandon Haskell and his wife, Allisha, of Palermo; her six great-grandchildren, Tasha and Reggie French of Palermo, Ryan and Kattie Millay of Palermo, Kaleb Dechamps of Liberty and Bret Haskell of Palermo. She is also survived by one sister, Vanessa Mehuren of Searsmont and her children, Kallie, Kasey and Jarrod; one brother, Dean Willoughby and his wife, Ann, of Palermo, and their children, Deann Porter and Emily Willoughby. Bev had two very special friends, Ellen Studley, formerly of Palermo, and Ginny Wellman and husband, Sherwin, of Palermo.
