Floyd "Pete" Whisman, 83, died Friday afternoon, March 22, 1991, at Colonial Manor in Kingsley, Iowa, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 1:30 p.m. from the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with Rev. John Crosswhite of the Kingsley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed in Grand Meadow Cemetery, rural Washta.
Mr. Whisman was born April 26, 1907, at Washta to Harvey and Nora (Gano) Whisman. He attended country school in the Washta area. He married Pearl Ballard June 19, 1927, at Washta. He had been a resident of the Kingsley area for many years, retiring in 1971.
He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. He was preceded by his parents; one brother, Marlin Whisman; and one sister, Mrs. Bessie Cedar. Survivors include his wife, Pearl; and one sister, Mrs. Clara Warburton of Brainerd, Minnesota.
